This exceptional property dates from 1610 as can be seen on the marriage lintel above the main front door. It was originally the house of the Master of the King’s Stables during the reign of the Stuart kings.
It offers a unique blend of history, comfort, and breathtaking views. When it’s time to venture outside, Falkland offers a wealth of attractions and activities. Immerse yourself in Falkland’s fascinating history by exploring the magnificent Falkland Palace, one of the National Trust for Scotland’s premier locations. After just a few minutes you will enter an enchanting landscape where there are many country walks to choose from - pick up some maps and guides from the converted Stables building which now also houses a cafe and a small art gallery. Look up to East Lomond - or Falkland Hill as it’s known locally - with the knowledge of it’s Pictish past and the impressive Hillfort which once sat on top, dominating the local landscape.
