Flooded by light, it now has cool, Scandi-minimalist interiors, softened by huge corner sofas, sheepskin bar stools, Chris’s handcrafted wooden tables and squishy rugs. Artsy touches – birch branch hangers, pineapple lamp shades, colourful cushions – add a touch of fun; vast floor-to-ceiling windows bring the stunning lake landscape in.
New this year, a separate one-bedroom designer pod with sauna and hot tub – we’re calling it The Nest – has given Widgeon an extra, ultra-romantic bedroom, so that it now sleeps eight. Widgeon also features a sheltered outside window seat for slumbering in the sun.
