The owners’ have completely renovated the property in 2020 to a spectacular standard throughout, there is an attractive entrance hall, a beautiful open plan lounge/kitchen and dining area with bamboo floorings, the kitchen is equipped to a very good standard and the lounge has very comfortable furniture, there is a stunning bathroom with a shower cubicle and free-standing bath and a bedroom accommodating a king size bed, in addition there is a utility room. The property has private parking and a beautiful, south-facing, lawned mature garden which is just opposite the residence, a secure bicycle shed and a summer house.
Just a 15-minute walk away, the beautiful town of Melrose is situated on the banks of the famous river tweed and was named as one of the best places to live in Scotland by the Sunday Times for 2020. Steeped with history, nearby is the ruined Melrose Abbey which dates from 1136 where a cask was discovered believed to contain the Heart of Robert the Bruce, as well as Abbotsford, the home of Sir Walter Scott. The triple peaks of Eildon Hills are a great place to explore for the outdoor enthusiasts, whilst for those who prefer to relax and unwind, you can wander the streets of Melrose with pretty boutique shops or visit the National Trust gardens nearby. The town is also home to the famous rugby sevens and book festival. Both Edinburgh and Berwick Upon Tweed are within an hour’s drive for those wanting to explore further afield.
