Deshar View is a semi-detached cottage at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac in the village of Boat of Garten within the Cairngorm National Park. The property has wonderful open views, many walks right on the doorstep and is great for couples as well as families.
Our place has 2 bedrooms; the master has a 150cm (5ft) wide double bed, the 2nd bedroom has 2 single beds. The lounge has seating for 5 people, a TV with FreeSat, a DVD player and a Wii. The conservatory overlooks the back garden which borders a woodland and fields as well as a small driving range for golfers. There are far-reaching views of the Cairngorm Mountains and Deshar Woods. The dining kitchen is equipped with a fridge, freezer, electric hob & double oven, microwave and washing machine. The bathroom has a shower, toilet and hand basin, no bath. Outside there is a large garden to the back, front and side, as this is the end property. There are also 2 sheds for outdoor equipment storage and a BBQ.
Boat of Garten is a quiet village well placed to explore the Cairngorm National Park. It has many forest walks and cycle paths starting right from the village and a golf course with tennis courts. The Steam Railway stops at it's railway station and the River Spey passes right by with kayaking and fishing opportunities. The Cairngorm Mountain with it's funicular railway is a 20 min drive away as is the Highland Wildlife Park. There are lots of other activities available, too, in the National Park.
Boat of Garten is very well serviced with two shops which supply everything from groceries to BBQ coal, fresh baking to snow sledges. One is also a post office with cash dispencing available. The village is home to a superb restaurant, Andersons, a gallery with coffee shop and a hotel, The Boat, with restaurant and bar.
