Positive: The lodge is rustic and attractive. The location in the woods is nice. It felt quiet and secluded. Lamlash is lovely and is a good location to base yourself.

Negative: It was cold even in spring! The lodges are made of wood and don't appear to have any insulation. This means that they don't retain any heat. Because it is open plan, the main living area is quite large and it takes a long time to heat up. Given the lack of insulation the heat is lost very quickly so the lodge gets cold as soon as you turn the heating off. Because the lodges are in a wooded area they don't get much sunshine so don't heat up much during the day. We often found that it was colder inside than it was outside. It would probably be a welcome cool temperature on a hot sunny day but for the rest of the year on the cold side.

Summary: Nice lodge but cold and difficult to heat
