Positive: Location - it was about an hour from Edinburgh and 45 minutes from Glasgow. It was not far from some other places for food, but the town of Law is relatively small with very little in the way of attractions or amenities. That was not why we stayed in this area. The property had easy stairs with three bedrooms and a nice living room. The two beds upstairs were decently comfortable.

Negative: The property owners had a problem with the cleaning not happening between us and the previous letters, so the place was not cleaned prior to us getting there. We had to wait a couple of hours for the cleaning service to happen. They did offer to refund the cleaning fee, but unfortunately it was in a manner that would not work because it was unavailable to us making it an empty offer. And even though the cleaning happened, we watched as the dishes and items are placed into the cupboards, but not necessarily checked. All the frying pans were coated with oil and all the dishes pretty much needed to be re-cleaned prior to using them. Some of the utensils were not very clean. Also the knives were either dull or lacking in quantity which made cooking rather difficult if we needed anything cut up. The beds upstairs were comfortable, but the bed downstairs needs to be replaced -- it is tilted and you can feel the springs. Luckily we did not need it. The bathroom toilet had a leak and the tub divider has no lower seal so water goes everywhere when you shower. We mentioned the toilet issue. When mentioned to the homeowner, my spouse who is a plumber, was belittled because the homeowner was a "civil engineer and knew what he was doing."
