This exceptional natural stone house classified as 4-star by the Meuble de Tourisme association, is just outside the picturesque little village of Moulis in the mountainous Pyrenees landscape, an ideal place for long walks, visiting historical sites and relaxing with plenty of privacy amidst lush nature.
The three-storey holiday house is part of an 18th-century chateau. It was completely renovated just recently in 2014, paying attention to preserving traditional elements such as the solid wooden floors, and combining them tastefully with a contemporary design. The holiday house provides all the necessary modern amenities for a comfortable stay. The extensive 12,000m² site of the country estate is shared only with the owner, his wife and their two children, who live in the main building. As the holiday house is detached and is the first on the private driveway to the country estate, privacy is ensured. It provides 120m² of living space, with a light and airy living and dining room with an integrated, highly modern kitchen, three bedrooms, a spacious daylight bathroom and a separate guest toilet and laundry room. The living room is on the ground floor and provides two comfortable sofas, wooden coffee tables, a flatscreen TV with a USB port, a DVD/CD player and a dining table with six chairs. The open fireplace built into the wall exudes a cosy atmosphere and pleasant warmth on cooler evenings. An elegant breakfast bar separates the dining space from the open kitchen, with generous marble worktops and all the latest appliances, including a dishwasher, ceramic hob and stainless steel extractor fan, an electric oven, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, kettle, toaster and coffee machine. The ground floor also has a separate guest toilet with a washing machine with a dryer function and a vacuum cleaner. Wide stairs lead upstairs to the two bedrooms and bathroom. Both bedrooms have a double bed (140 x 190cm), bedside tables with reading lamps, and cupboards with ample storage space for your luggage and clothing. The lightly tiled daylight bathroom has a bath with a shower attachment, a washbasin, a hairdryer and a toilet. Further stairs lead to the attic with the third bedroom with a double bed (160 x 190cm). A supplementary bed can be provided on request and a cot and highchair are available. Plenty of bed linen and towels are provided. The reliable wireless Internet connection can be used free of charge.
The living room opens onto an extensive outdoor area. Children will enjoy the playground with a trampoline and a swing. There is an outdoor kitchen for sharing meals outdoors. The outdoor shower and toilet are very convenient. A car is recommended during your stay and there are secure parking spaces right in front of the house. The owner right next door in the main building is happy to assist with any queries, whilst respecting your privacy.
Your holiday house is about 5km from the centre of the little town of Castillon with a range of shops, colourful markets and good gastronomy. The nearest grocery shops, a bar and a pizzeria are about 2km away in the little town of Moulis, and Engomer is about the same distance away. It is about an hour’s drive (90km) to the airport (Toulouse-Blagnac). The diverse flora and fauna of the mountainous Pyrenees National Park can be explored on many hiking and cycling trails in the immediate vicinity of the house.
