Stable Cottage is a beautiful Galloway cottage delightfully decorated and furnished making it the perfect holiday destination, surrounded by the stunning coastline and rugged landscape of this wonderful corner of south-west Scotland.
On the ground floor you step into the well-equipped kitchen/dining room which leads to the spacious and welcoming living room. Also on the ground floor is a toilet and a double bedroom with a comfortable double bed, whilst upstairs there is a further bedroom with kingsize bed and the family bathroom. Outside, the gardens at Stable Cottage are immaculate and where you can sit and relax perhaps with a glass of your favourite tipple!
Stable Cottage is set in a peaceful location on the fringes of Creetown, a former fishing village, and has a small convenience store and butchers. Creetown is probably best known for being home to the award-winning Gem Rock Museum with its collection of gemstones, crystals and minerals and is certainly worth a visit while staying at Stable Cottage.
Just along the road from Stable Cottage is the larger town of Newton Stewart, known as 'The Gateway to the Galloway Hills' where you will find many excellent shops, a cinema and places to eat. Stable Cottage is located at the edge of the Galloway Forest Park, Britain's largest forest park with three hundred square miles of wild beauty to be explored, the park boasts tranquil valleys, rugged rock faces, forest, moorland and lochs. The park has also been awarded the status of one of only four Dark Sky Parks in the western world, and when the sun sets, enthusiasts come to wonder at the universe revealed above.
This area of Dumfries and Galloway, known as 'The Machars', boasts rugged coastlines, secluded sandy beaches and pretty little seaside villages and is surrounded by breathtaking scenery, offering an ideal base from which to explore the Machars Peninsula and the Galloway hills. Perfect for walkers, golfers and cyclists, with Kirroughtree and the world renowned 7Stanes mountain bike trails on your doorstep, as well as a great choice of golf courses.
