Summary: The hotel was great - exactly as described and the manager coped very well with a group of 11 adults and various requests. Twin rooms were quite small but adequate, hot water plentiful and breakfast was good. The location was very convenient and free parking possible as long as you didn't mind waiting occasionally to find a space..
The only thing I could possibly complain about is that the pillows were lumpy and should probably be replaced.

Summary: Only stayed one night during a tour of the Loire Valley. Saumur is a lovely town with plenty going on in and around it. The hotel is just a 5-10 min walk from the main centre where there are plenty of restaurants. The owner was very helpful on arrival and directed us to a very near free car park. There is no lift so be prepared to lug your cases if you are on the top floor LOL! The room was very compact but had all we needed, bed was comfy and the shower was very good (bathroom all very compact but clean and everything needed). It was very hot when we were there and although there is no air conditioning there was a good fan in the room which circulated the air good enough. Breakfast was a simple but very friendly affair and the owner was very helpful regarding places to go etc. All-in-all a great stop over at a very reasonable price.

Summary: Our party of 7 (4 rooms) stayed for 2 nights at the Citotel Le Volney in Saumur as part of a flying tour around the Loire Valley.
Very pleased with the hotel, although it was an old building the rooms were very clean and tidy, the bathrooms especially so and were well equipped and clean with lots of hot water.
Bedrooms were not the largest of hotels I've stayed in, but for our purposes, they were more than adequate.
The proprietor speaks very good English and was extremely helpful for any questions we had.
Breakfast was good value and there was plenty of food.
The hotel is not all that far from the town centre and Chateau, perhaps a 10 minute walk.
Only negative comment was the Wifi, it went on the blink on the first afternoon and whilst restored on the second day it was still quite slow. Other than that I would thoroughly recommend this hotel

Summary: Easy to find in the town centre. Friendly and helpful owner who will point out the large free car park 40 metres up the road. Quiet area, even though it's very central. Small, cosy rooms with very comfortable beds, bathrooms quite small but fully equipped and very clean. WiFi good. Nice fresh breakfast. All in all a very nice authentically French experience. Would definitely stay here again next time we are in the Loire Valley.

Summary: We stayed one night on the way south.Arrived quite late but Monsieur welcomed us warmly and gave us good advice on the best places to eat locally. Directed us to free parking at the end of street.
Very comfortable beds in quiet, clean, room.
Good coffee and the best bread and croissants we've had for years - bought in freshly from his local baker.
Quietly charming and wonderfully French.
