The village of Woolacombe is lively and vibrant, attracting holidaymakers from all walks of life, it has a good selection of shops, pubs, restaurants and takeaways and the beachside café is the perfect place to sit and indulge in a Devon Cream Tea. Follow the coastal path to the adjoining village of Mortehoe, a smugglers haunt, and walk along Morte Point to catch some glorious views down to Woolacombe and across to Lundy Island. The harbour town of Ilfracombe, with its quaint Victorian charm, and the market towns of Barnstaple and Bideford are all within easy driving distance. Visit the Pannier markets for great local produce. A day out to Exmoor is well worth the trip and follow the moor to Lynton and Lynmouth where the fields meet the sea.
