The town's growing art scene boasts galleries showcasing local talent, as well as restaurants from award-winning chefs, and the lively Porthleven Food Festival. Much of the coastline around the town is designated as Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty with nearby Loe Pool which is Cornwall's largest natural freshwater lake, and the Loe Bar, providing incredible natural beauty for walkers and cyclists. If it's a beach holiday you're after, you'll have a Porthleven's town beach just 5 minutes' drive away, or slightly further away but still only a 10ish minute drive is the fantastic Praa Sands where you can swim, sunbathe and surf to your heart's content.
