Feltre: holidays amid nature, culture and good food Feltre, one of the most picturesque towns in the Veneto region, lies at the centre of a natural amphitheatre at the foot of the Pre-Alps. Here you will really find everything you need for your holiday, from trekking to skiing, from art to sporting events, from gastronomy to culture.
Feltre and the neighbouring territories, included in the Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park, are a stage, or rather a gym, for many sports and leisure activities. There is something for all tastes, from trekking to excursions along the spectacular trails on the Feltre peaks, in the Valle di Canzoi, around Lake Corlo, in the Vincheto di Celarda state nature reserve, or thematic itineraries such as the water route in Sovramonte.
Not forgetting other sports, such as cycling or mountain biking itineraries, or skiing near Monte Avena, often the starting point for more extreme sports such as paragliding and hang-gliding. During the winter period it is possible to snowshoe, ice-skate, play hockey and curling at the ice rink, or cross-country ski in the ring created within the circuit that in August is the scene of the most eagerly awaited race of the Palio di Feltre: that of the horses.
A land devoted to sport, well testified by the numerous races and events, some at international level, that take place throughout the year: from the Granfondo Sportful (June) to the Giro delle Mura (August), from the Cronoscalata Pedavena - Croce d'Aune (September), to the Belluno-Feltre Run.
Not forgetting the 24 Hours of Feltre (June), a team (relay) marathon on the pedals on an evocative city circuit in the heart of Feltre. Feltre is also a city to be discovered from a cultural point of view, with its frescoed palaces, cathedral, museums, and archaeological excavations that bear witness to its ancient origins and its belonging to the Roman Empire. One of the main annual cultural-artistic-traditional events in Feltre is the handicrafts exhibition (June). Also worth discovering is the local gastronomic tradition, which offers the well-known Fagiolo di Lamon IGP (Lamon bean IGP), the Moroni (chestnuts) of Seren del Grappa, the Mela Prussiana (Prussian apple) of Sovramonte, the NoceFeltrina (Feltre walnut), the MaisSponcio (maize) polenta flour and the Cesiomaggiore potato.
Also worth tasting are the honey, cheeses (Piave and Schiz), Pedavena beer and Caorera grappa. And to discover in how many ways Feltre and the province of Belluno are adorable, we provide a link that may be useful for researching news and being updated on events in the area.
The B&B has been awarded the Quality Charter logo (the flower of the Campanula Morettiana), created by the Belluno Dolomites National Park, for its commitment to environmental protection and its link with the territory by adopting responsible behaviour to preserve a 'naturally' richer environment. In fact, we promote innovations for a sustainable future and therefore heat water with solar panels. Convinced that big changes are the result of small gestures, in our own small way, we support the environment by using alternative water sources (rainwater harvesting) to irrigate our gardens and by adopting a separate waste collection plan to recycle waste considered not as mere waste, but as potential resources.
