The Strathspey Lodge is warm and welcoming with many features to enhance your stay and with comfort in mind. The ground floor enjoys a bright and airy layout, with open plan kitchen and dining area and spacious living room, along with a useful downstairs cloakroom, with plug for razor in mirrored cabinet, and utility room. Upstairs, three bedrooms have a suitable layout for families, couples or small golf or walking parties and the owner kindly supplies toiletries; the master bedroom also has a safe for storage of precious items.
Whilst outside, a private enclosed garden is the perfect place to sit and relax, the hot tub (hydro massage programmes) with massage jets is the perfect place to unwind in after a busy day, and for al fresco dining, the barbecue area is to hand. There is a summer house with a canopy in the garden beside the large stone barbecue, for eating outside undercover or inside the lockable summerhouse, which offers storage for golf clubs or skis. There is private parking and a bike rack in the front garden with a seating area to enjoy the evening sun. Enjoying a quiet setting within a few minutes’ walk of the town centre, golf club and riverside walks along the Spey.
Grantown-on-Spey has a lovely traditional high street, with wonderful independent shops, you won’t find any large chain stores here! To satisfy your food needs there is a good choice of cafés, bars and restaurants – you are never far from good Highland food to keep you going. Situated halfway between the Cairngorm and Lecht ski centres, where you can ski and snowboard, or climb and walk, in some of Scotland’s most scenic areas. Amongst the many activities available are mountain biking, kayaking, gorge walking, clay pigeon shooting, golf, fishing, tennis, swimming and zip lining to name just a few. Why not take a trip along the world’s only Malt Whisky Trail, or visit some of the lovely fishing villages dotted along the Moray coastline. Visit the nearby Craggan Outdoor Centre just on the edge of the town, where you can experience a large range of outdoor pursuits.
Slightly further afield, you can visit the Landmark Forest Adventure Park in Carrbridge, the Highland Wildlife Park at Kingussie, or take a trip up into the Cairngorms mountain range on the funicular railway and see the reindeer in the Cairngorm Centre, or board the steam train for an exciting trip through the beautiful countryside.
