Of particular note is the legendary Loch Ness, which is surrounded by some truly breathtaking scenery. Just outside the city is the Culloden Battlefield at Culloden Moor (National Trust). The city also has museums, an art gallery, fine theatre and leisure facilities, not to mention shops, pubs and restaurants. Both the River Ness and neighbouring Moray Firth are home to a diverse range of wildlife and marine life including red kites, along with dolphins, which can sometimes be seen from the shore, or on trips from the harbour.
